The Center for Neurodevelopmental Services (CNS) – Pathways Academy is a year-round (216 days), day school that provides comprehensive therapeutic and educational services to children and adolescents with Asperger’s syndrome, High Functioning Autism, Nonverbal Learning Disorders, and other related disorders. Pathways Academy is fully approved by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). Pathways is a developmentally-based program. All behaviors are viewed as a form of communication and the function of each behavior is assessed. Pathways Academy provides its students with developmentally based, psychoeducational interventions, utilizing positive behavior supports to ensure academic and social pragmatic success. Moreover, Pathways Academy offers sensory integration and modulation strategies throughout the school day. Occupational Therapy consults, including sensory diets, are incorporated into the program. Pathways Academy also provides the low stress, therapeutic setting necessary for the development of coping skills.
