At Belmont Day School, we foster intellectual curiosity, honor differences, and empower meaningful contribution with excellence, respect, honesty, responsibility, caring, and joy for a pre-k to grade 8 co-ed community of thoughtful, caring, creative learners and leaders. Our students’ love of learning is nurtured every day through hands-on, collaborative interdisciplinary work that grounds the academic experience in the real world. Our faculty embrace learning as a process and recognize the importance of students understanding and sharing that process. They are experts at offering each individual student the right level of challenge and support. As educators, our job is to encourage children to bring all of their skills, experiences, and optimism to meet challenges whether in the classroom, on the athletics fields, or in the art studios. Our intentional curriculum in health and wellness, social-emotional learning, and equity, inclusion, and belonging help students build a strong sense of themselves and embody the school’s core values. Our eighth grade graduates go on to the high schools of their choosing, where they are embraced as confident self-advocates and leaders in their new school communities. At every grade level, students embrace the learning and wellness opportunities of being outdoors throughout the environment of our beautiful 11-acre campus.
