Set on 100 acres of land in Greenfield, Ma
Taught by Stoneleigh-Burnham staff
Bonnie Castle Riding Camp is offering as part of the daily camp curriculum the British Horse Society program. The Challenge Awards allow campers to work at their own pace while improving their knowledge in horse care and riding. There are 32 personal development challenges to work towards, focusing on improving skills, knowledge and confidence. There are four levels, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum where campers can mix and match their challenges to fit their interests, earning certificates as they complete each section. The Challenge Awards help campers set goals in a non- competitive but progressive and rewarding program.
Evening activities for extended day camp and overnight include swimming, outdoor movies, scavenger hunts, sing and dance-a-longs, outdoor games, and much, much more!
During Speak up at Stoneleigh-Burnham our goal is to have fun and learn some ways to use our voices effectively. The camp will be a combination of learning skills as well as practicing several types of public speaking categories that students might encounter: Interpretive Reading, Impromptu Speech, After-Dinner or Persuasive speech (campers will get to choose), and Parliamentary Extemporaneous debate.
Throughout the week in Performing arts, students will have the opportunity to learn about vocal technique and vocal health, work on acting and emoting while singing through a variety of acting games, and practice musicianship skills, such as ear training and sight singing. Students will take technique classes in contemporary, ballet, and jazz dance forms. They will practice improvisation and learn basic composition skills.
