German International School Boston
The intensive Fast Track program welcomes students entering grades 1-5 who have little to no previous German language skills and prepares them to participate in GISB’s regular curriculum within one year.
Upper level students achieve native-level proficiency in German and English, are challenged by an advanced math and science curriculum, and enjoy travel and exchange opportunities. GISB graduates earn both a high school diploma and the German International Abitur, a rigourous internationally recognized honors-level diploma that opens access to higher education in the United States and Europe.
German International School Boston looks forward to giving you a virtual tour of the school — Willkommen & Welcome!

Description GISB students have multiple opportunities for extended international travel and exchange programs with peers and teachers. Annual multi-day expeditions include hiking in the White Mountains and adventures at The Ecology School in Maine, while project days place students on-location throughout the city. Our regular athletics curriculum includes indoor and outdoor sports, plus annual swim lessons at Boston University, rock climbing at a local climbing gym, and track & field at Harvard Stadium. Upper School students are trained as docents at Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts, and all students enjoy field trips to the museum throughout the year thanks to a partnership. A unique week-long internship for students in grade 9 offers real experience in the workplace. A mentoring program connects students in grades 8 – 11 with local professionals in medicine, biotech, and the arts. Our After School Program offers a wide array of choices ranging from archery to video game design to private music lessons through Middle School. Older students participate in Model United Nations, the GISB Jazz Band, and our travel ultimate frisbee and volleyball teams, to name a few. At GISB, students have the support and encouragement to create their own clubs, which currently include Improv, Community Service, a Capella, and Peer Tutoring.
