Cardigan Mountain School Summer Session

The perfect balance between academic enrichment and summertime fun for boys and girls ages 8-15!

Cardigan Summer Session is not a traditional summer camp OR a traditional summer school. Our mission is to provide the perfect balance between authentic learning, personal development, and summertime fun. Each morning, our students take 5 classes ranging from traditional courses like SSAT Prep, Stories & Poems: Seuss to Shakespeare, CSI: Forensics, to electives such as Mixed Media Art, Dance, and Wilderness Adventures. With a student teacher ratio of 3:1, our class sizes are small and students may choose from over 50 course offerings, creating a personalized, structured learning environment that is both innovative and fun. In the afternoon, we take full advantage of our beautiful lakeside campus with a variety of activities, including stand-up paddle boarding, swimming, tennis, mountain biking, yoga, soccer, and overnight wilderness trips. At night, we welcome performers to campus, engage in all-school competitions, enjoy campfire skits, and bond as a group during dormitory initiatives. By “lights out,” our students are ready for a good night’s rest after a very full day. At the conclusion of Summer Session, lifelong friendships have formed and students return home with an expanded academic skill set, a broader experience of community and culture, and the joy of having been away at summer camp!

Amazing experience

Our children loved Cardigan Summer Session. They loved it because they formed lifelong friends while learning and playing and trying new activities. We loved it because they had an academic enrichment experience and camp experience wrapped up in one program.
