As part of the National Security Language Initiatives, STARTALK is a multi-year federally-funded project designed to expand and improve the teaching and learning of strategically important world languages which are not widely taught in the US, such as Chinese and Arabic. Having been awarded to offer the STARTALK Chinese Program at Bryant University for ten consecutive years since its inception in 2007, over 500 middle and high school student in RI and from other states across the country have learned Chinese from STARTALK at Bryant. The STARTALK program is taught by STARTALK trained teachers who focus on student-centered activities in the customized classrooms.The curriculum is themed-based emphasizing real-world communication. The program located in Smithfield, RI will run from July 12-25, with no weekend activities, from 9:00AM to 3:00PM (Complimentary lunch is provided daily). The cost is $100 material fee and is paid upon acceptance.
