Wednesday, September 18 is World Bamboo Day.
Join us in this annual international effort to celebrate the wonders of Bamboo. Renowned as a versatile and sustainable material for building, art, and so much more! We have a week of fun and educational programs and events planned for all ages to enjoy
Take this unusual opportunity to learn about this incredible plant and why it’s so globally significant from our esteemed colleagues from the World Bamboo Organization. Suzanne Lucas, Executive Director, Guillermo Mortera, Communications Director, of the World Bamboo Organization, and Vinc Math, Bamboo Designer, will share their knowledge and expertise.
The week culminates on Saturday, September 21, with a celebration of our Big Beautiful Bamboo Birds sculpture exhibit where you can meet the artists who created the incredible sculptures. The Myth Makers, Donna Dodson and Andy Moerlein, will be on hand to lead you through the exhibit and answer all your bamboo-as-art questions!
