Embark on a once-in-a-lifetime virtual adventure! Kristin will share images of spectacular landscapes and the wildlife that have adapted to live in the extreme environment of the Faukland Islands and South Georgia. From a visit to Antarctic research stations, to the sudden breach of a minke whale or a magical moment with penguins. there is nothing like Antarctica. The resident penguins include such personalities as the comical rockhoppers, businesslike chinstraps, and adorable adelies. Learn what scientists with Penguin Watch identify as risk factors to the Antarctic penguin population, as they conduct long-term rookery monitoring, and genetic analysis to obtain information on how these populations are changing and declining. Registration recommended by 5pm the day prior. Location-themed dessert and Lecture. Dessert at 7pm, Lecture at 7:30pm. Online registration available.
