Nature Drawing at Blithewold

This drawing class will focus on subjects from nature: flowers and trees in the fall landscape.

Each week, a topic will be presented to introduce a variety of drawing skills, color theory, and artistic expression. Still-life objects as well as photographs will be used to help students select a composition. Observational drawing and artistic interpretation will be emphasized to render subjects. Blithewold’s gardens and arboretum will provide the inspiration for classwork.

The main material will be colored pencils with various options offered in class. Paper and all art materials are provided by the instructor, but students may bring their own supply of art materials if desired.

Beginning, intermediate, and experienced students are encouraged to attend.

Preregistration is required. Each class is limited to 15 people.
