GLORIA!: Cambridge Community Chorus Winter Concert, December 16

Cambridge Community Chorus and Music Director Pamela Mindell present Puccini's Messa di Gloria, with works by Pergolesi and J.S Bach. Join Cambridge Community Chorus and Music Director Pamela Mindell for an afternoon of glorious music featuring Puccini's Messa di Gloria, Pergolesi's Magnificat, and J.S. Bach's "Dona nobis pacem" from the Mass in B Minor. Puccini's only Mass setting is everything you would expect from the composer of Tosca and Madame Butterfly; a Romantic, operatic tour de force. Pergolesi's Magnificat is a melodic Baroque gem from the early 1700s, and the program concludes with the transcendent final movement from J.S. Bach's Mass in B Minor, "Dona nobis pacem." With professional orchestra and critically-acclaimed Boston-based soloists tenor Fran Rogers and baritone Scott Ballantine. End Time: 6:00 pm. Category: Arts | Performing Arts | Music. Sub-Categories: Community | Local / Community. Artists / Speakers: Fran Rogers, Scott Ballantine.
