Fleeced: Unraveling the History of Wool and War, co-authored by Trish Fitzsimons. Fleeced explores the history of wool in wartime and how the demand for it resulted in international intrigue, negotiation, anxiety, and even how we dress today. The expansion of wool production in the 19th century led to an enormous increase in the size of armies in the 20th century, which in turn led to a search for wool’s replacement and our current-day issue of pervasive microplastic pollution.
