FCSN 2018 Gala
The event will celebrate the organization’s many accomplishments, with a goal of raising $200,000 to support our work. We will begin the evening at 6:00pm with a Silent Auction and reception, followed by dinner, entertainment, and an award ceremony to recognize an outstanding group of honorees who have made significant contributions to improving the lives of children with disabilities. The Martha Zeigler Founders Award, which recognizes an individual (or, in this case, individualS) who continue Martha’s vision to educate, advocate, and inspire, will be presented to David and Margot Wizansky. In 1983, David and Margot founded Specialized Housing, an organization that creates supportive housing opportunities for adults with disabilities in condominiums and apartments. Our President’s Award will be presented to Ron Benham, Director of the Bureau of Family Health and Nutrition at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, and finally, the Patricia Blake Advocacy Award will be presented to comedian, parent advocate, and FCSN alumnus Bethany Van Delft, whose personal testimony about being the mother of a child with Down syndrome touched thousands all over the country.
