The First Flag symbolized both the defiance and resolve of the Continental Army as they entered a critical phase of the Siege of Boston. This year’s milestone 250th anniversary expands the traditional military ceremony to better reflect the full diversity of people whose labor, courage and aspirations shaped the Revolution. With participation by militia from Charlestown, Bedford, Rhode Island and more. Special appearances by George Washington on horseback, “Phyllis Wheatley” and “Primus Hall”. Hot drinks and pastries will be available.
11:30am – Join the procession led by George Washington on his horse accompanied by Fife and Drummers from City Hall, 93 Highland Ave, to Prospect Hill Park on Munrose Street.
12-1pm – Flag Raising ceremony at Proepect Hill Park
