1st Annual Chelmsford Mother's Club Mom Prom
The Chelmsford Mother’s Club is hosting the first annual Mom Prom! It will take place at the historic Chelmsford Center for the Arts. All profits will be shared evenly by the Alternative House and the Chelmsford Mother’s Club. If you would rather not head home after partying all night, we have reserved a block of rooms at The Westford Regency. The mission of Alternative House is to facilitate the creation of a society in which violence and oppression will no longer exist. As a means to this end, they offer access to shelter, support, children’s programming, legal, housing, and community advocacy for all victims of domestic violence (and their children) who seek their help. They are committed to the empowerment of all victims toward self-sufficiency. They do not discriminate against any race, class, culture, age group or sexual orientation. In addition, they provide community education and support to reform societal attitudes that permit violence and oppression against anyone. Established in 1996 in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, the Chelmsford Mothers' Club is a non-profit organization that serves as a means for parents to share their experiences, find companionship, and receive information about parenting and child development. It also provides an outlet for personal growth. The club consists of mothers of infants and young children. We have monthly meetings with guest speakers and social activities. We also host special activities for children as well as family outings. Motherhood can be an extremely rewarding experience, and it can also be a very challenging one. As mothers, we are constantly faced with questions and concerns about how we can best care for our children. Although we usually revel in the everyday joys of mothering, at times we can also feel isolated and frustrated. It is because of these moments, that the Chelmsford Mothers' Club was created.
