This September marks Director Malcolm Rogers’ 20th Anniversary at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Community has been a cornerstone of Rogers’ tenure. Over the years he has increased free open houses and cultural celebrations at the MFA, along with eliminating admission fees for children 17 and under.

On Sunday, September 7 the Museum will mark his commitment by offering a free MFA Community Day. The day will begin with Malcolm greeting the public on the MFA’s Bank of America Plaza at 10 am and continue with 20+ activities for visitors to enjoy including:

- Art-making sessions (including one led by artist Shinique Smith)

- A film: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

- Artist demonstrations (including one led by the Diablo Glass School)

- A performance by Revolution of Hope (a youth orchestra from Roxbury)

- Guided Tours highlighting works that underscore the impact Malcolm has had on the collection Hide
