Vernal pools are temporary pools of water that provide a special home for certain types of plants and animals. We’ll search for frogs, salamanders, and insects and play games along the way to learn why vernal pools and other wetlands are important habitats. Be sure to wear shoes that can get muddy. As an organization that also provides Intensive Foster Care, The Home for Little Wanderers has found that many people are unaware of the different types of foster care. This topic has occupied my mind for years! Thank you for starting a movement that parents so desperately need! It is difficult for young parents to NOT get caught up in the overscheduled lifestyle. No well-meaning parent wants their child to miss any opportunity for healthy enrichment, but too much is counterproductive! Although my children are teenagers now, I would have LOVED to hear your words of wisdom when my family craved downtime!
