This Memorial Day weekend, Stone Zoo will welcome back a few scaly faces with toothy grins as the American alligator exhibit opens for the season.

Vernal pools are temporary pools of water that provide a special home for certain types of plants and animals. We’ll search for frogs, salamanders, and insects and play games along the way to learn why vernal pools and other wetlands are important habitats. Be sure to wear shoes that can get muddy. Recommended for children age 4 and older with a caregiver.
