Host your own Grand Galloping Gala! My Little Pony is a great kids’ party theme because it promotes friendship, creativity and magic! Your guests will love creating their own cutie marks and exploring your version of Equestria! Here are some tips on how to throw a kid’s My Little Pony party.
Invitations: For My Little Pony party invitations, use your child’s favorite cutie mark as the base for the invitation. Do they like Rarity’s gems, Fluttershy’s butterflies or Twilight Sparkle’s stars? Write the party details on the cutie mark.
Princess Celestia meet-and-greet: Have an adult dress up as Princess Celestia and greet guests as they enter the party. Allow them to take photos with her and keep them as a favor.
Rainbow fruit platter: This fruit platter would impress Rainbow Dash! Layer fruit in the seven colors of the rainbow, and arrange them in an arc on a serving platter. Use marshmallows at the end for clouds.
Pony treats: Serve carrots and broccoli with ranch dressing, and serve apple slices with caramel and chocolate dipping sauce.
Pinkie Pie’s pink lemonade: Serve pink lemonade from a drink dispenser that would get Pinkie Pie excited to party!
Pony rides: Consider renting a pony for your party. Experienced pony handlers can lead guests around the back yard while they get to experience riding. The vendors may even be willing to airbrush cutie marks onto their ponies, or attach unicorn horns or Pegasus wings.
Bobbing for apples: Applejack would love this classic game! Put apples into a shallow bucket of water, and have guests dunk their heads to try and grab the apple!
Cutie mark station: Guests can channel their inner Rarity as they create their own stylish cutie marks! Put out construction paper, glitter glue, pipe cleaners, stickers or foam shapes, and let guests get creative with figuring out what their special talent that dictates their cutie mark is.
Equestria Girls screening: Screen the film Equestria Girls at your party and watch as guests react to seeing their favorite ponies in human form!
Cake: Let the birthday child dictate what goes on their My Little Pony cake. You could model it after their favorite pony. For example, if Rainbow Dash is their favorite, you could make a seven-layer rainbow cake. Or, if their favorite pony is Fluttershy, you could make a cake in the shape of a bunny.
Decorations: My Little Pony is an explosion of color and your decorating can reflect that! Hang streamers and balloons in the colors of the “mane six” ponies, and hang cutouts of the ponies around your party venue. Use tableware and silverware reflective of the colors of the ponies, and let guests pick where to sit based on their favorite pony.
Favors: Use novelty items and candy to send your guests home with a smile! They’ll also have their Celestia meet-and-greet photo and their cutie mark.
